Getting Started

What is Profit Share?
Profit Share is a revenue-tracking and profit-distribution tool. Set up a project, give each collaborator a role and a percentage of the revenue, track expenses and income, and pay everyone their share — so there are no arguments about money later.
Who is it for?
Any creative team splitting revenue — filmmakers, music producers, and other collaborators who need a clear, transparent way to divide what a project earns.
Is it free?
You can create a project and set up participants for free. Paid features and payouts follow the suite’s plan model; see the pricing page for current details.

Splits

How do I set each person’s share?
Add participants to a project and give each one a role and a revenue-share percentage — for example a Lead at 10% or a Co-Producer at 50%. You invite each collaborator, and they accept their role and split from a secure link.
Can participants see their own share?
Yes. Once someone accepts their invite, their role and percentage are recorded, and participation schedules show every participant’s share in one place.

Expenses & Revenue

Can I track expenses?
Yes. Log project expenses so payouts are calculated on the actual profit — revenue minus costs — not just gross income.
How is each payout calculated?
As revenue comes in you record it; Profit Share applies each participant’s percentage to the distributable profit and shows exactly what each person is owed.

Payouts

How do collaborators get paid?
Payouts can be sent via Stripe or PayPal, and each payout is tracked so you have a clear record of who has been paid and when.

Reports

Are there financial reports?
Yes. Profit Share produces financial reports of revenue, expenses, splits and payouts that you can review and share with your collaborators.

Account

Does it use my Producers Suite account?
Yes. Profit Share uses the same account as the rest of the suite, so you sign in once and it works alongside your other production tools.
