Contract Assistant creates production contracts, organizes them by project, and sends them for signature. This guide covers creating a contract, sending it, importing people, and tracking status.

01 When to use it

Papering a deal fast

Generate a contract from a template or with AI, edit it, and send it for signature — without starting from a blank document.

Keeping contracts organized

Group every agreement by production project so you can see what’s drafted, sent, and signed.

Contracting your whole team

Import cast and crew from Film Assistant, or applicants from Selection Board, to generate contracts quickly.

Getting signatures

Send a secure link so recipients can review and sign online and keep their own copy.

02 Manual — step by step

1 Create a project

  1. From Projects, create a new project for the production.
  2. You can start it standalone, or on a paid plan link it to a Film Assistant or Selection Board project.
  3. Contracts you create are grouped under this project.
Tip: Standalone creation is free; linking from other systems is a paid feature.

2 Generate a contract

  1. In your project, choose New Contract.
  2. Pick a recipient, or enter one manually.
  3. Choose a template, or let the AI draft the contract.
  4. Edit any section until it’s right.
Tip: AI generation uses Producers Credit.

3 Import cast & crew

  1. On a paid plan, use the link options to import from Film Assistant or Selection Board.
  2. Pick the people you want to generate contracts for.
  3. Their details auto-fill the contract.
Tip: This can be done at project creation or later from the project view.

4 Send for signature

  1. Open the contract and click Send.
  2. The recipient gets a secure link to review and sign.
  3. They can download their own signed copy.
Tip: Recipients can always print or download their copy, even without a paid account.

5 Track signing status

  1. Open the project to see every contract’s state: draft, sent, partially signed, fully signed.
  2. Follow up on anything still pending.
Tip: Exporting contracts you own is a paid feature.
